Financial institutions cut corporate client onboarding from days to minutes

Redsis turned a manual, paper-based process full of rework into a digital self-onboarding flow built on Fortra GoAnywhere MFT, with external validations integrated into each institution's core system, no re-keying of data and a complete audit trail.

The client

The project was delivered for Latin American financial institutions that serve corporate clients: companies that open accounts, sign up for products and activate commercial banking services. For these institutions, onboarding is the front door to the relationship and, at the same time, one of the most demanding processes from a compliance standpoint.

Onboarding a company means verifying that it exists and who legally represents it, identifying its shareholders and ultimate beneficial owners, reviewing documents and complying with know-your-customer and anti-money-laundering rules. When all of that happens on paper, the client waits for days and the institution piles up rework.

The challenge

Corporate client onboarding was a manual process. Data was captured on paper, re-keyed into systems, and any inconsistency meant starting over. The result was a multi-day process that slowed down the arrival of new clients.

  • Long lead times: onboarding meant several days of waiting for the client.
  • Rework: manual capture and re-capture led to errors and returned applications.
  • Disconnected checks: document, identity and compliance verification happened separately.
  • Hard-to-gather evidence: reconstructing the process for internal or regulatory audits took time.

Before and after

Before

Manual onboarding

Paper-based data capture, rework and several days of waiting.

Today

Digital self-onboarding

A digital flow with external validations integrated into each institution's core system.

The solution

Redsis designed a digital self-onboarding flow on Fortra GoAnywhere MFT, Fortra's platform for secure file transfer and workflow automation. The corporate client enters its information and uploads its documents through a secure digital channel; from there, the platform orchestrates the validations and delivers the data to the institution's core system.

External validations (document, identity and compliance checks) are built into the flow, so information is verified once and recorded in the systems without being re-keyed. Every step leaves evidence, which simplifies internal audits and responses to regulatory requests.

Building blocks of the flow

  • Document validation of the information and supporting files the client provides.
  • Identity and compliance: external checks integrated into the process.
  • Core integration with each institution, with no manual re-keying.
  • Corporate client experience: a digital process the company completes on its own.
  • Secure transfer of data and documents, encrypted in transit and at rest.
  • Audit logging of every step in the flow.
